It was High Noon, on May 15th when 27
members of the Chaparral Section and 2 guest--Bud Cloninger and his
wife from the Phoenix Desert Star--met at the old Tanque Verde Ranch
for brunch. The Tanque Verde Ranch has been in operation since 1868
and has over 60,000 acres (the largest dude ranch in the USA) as
well as the best Brunch in Tucson. The camaraderie, food and prizes
were great fun. The line up of Mercedes was impressive. President
Mike Zonnefeld highlighted for the attendees the many upcoming
events scheduled for the remainder of 2010. Included in our line up
is: the continuing commitment to support local charities, a meeting
at the Pima Air Museum, support of the Rotary Club, a joint event
with the Desert Stars and attendance at the Tohono O'Odam Cultural
Center. The second year of the revitalized Club has more and more
events and interesting activities for our members and
guest.
